FENCES Shares New Lyric Video Of ‘Paper Route’

FENCES Shares New Lyric Video Of ‘Paper Route’ 3rd Album 'Failure Sculptures' Deluxe Version Out March 12th 2021 Via ENCI ‘PAPER ROUTE’ NEW LYRIC VIDEO HERE ALBUM ART: HERE SHORT FILMED BIO: HERE HI-RES PHOTO: HEREDon’t let the fact that he looks like an extra from Sons Of Anarchy fool you because Chris Mansfield is a pretty sensitive dude. He doesn’t follow anyone on Twitter, so he’s infinitely more productive and prolific than you are. Sorry.” Noisey “…alongside down-and-out saints with vigour like Townes Van Zandt, Elliott Smith and The Cure, Mansfield sears vivid scenes rooted in hardship, drinking, despair and fear of losing love into the psyche…yet at all times he does so with a hand on his pop pistol, ready to blast completely into smithereens what, on paper, would look like just another hushed singer-songwriter on a downer.” Drowned in Sound Seattle native FENCES, the moniker of musician/songwriter Christopher Mansfield will be releasing the Deluxe version of his 3rd album 'Failure Sculptures' on March 12th 2021 via ENCI. Pre-order the album HERE. The Deluxe is laced with two extra unheard acoustic tracks. Perhaps most well-known for his collaborations with Tegan and Sara (who produced his 2010 self-titled debut album) Cedric Bixler-Zavala, and Macklemore (who he's teamed up with on various tracks), ‘Failure Sculptures’ will be his first new LP since 2015's 'Lesser Oceans' Today he releases a lyric video for the second single ‘Paper Route’ which was premiered by Week In Pop or view it HERE. Describing the track Mansfield says “Paper Route” is essentially putting prose to a memory. Everything in the song happened as it was sung. Behind the flowers and idioms of course. I’ve written hundreds of songs but I actually do like this one quite a bit. As far as the album as a whole and my feelings on that now...I won’t lie there is a degree or embarrassment just for the sheer fact that all the songs are prose to memory. You’re never supposed to read someone’s diary right? That is unless they sell it.” FENCES will be releasing a new EP of songs slated for release this spring. “Mansfield creates an elusive soundscape you're eager to escape to” Discover Vinyl "...further testament to Christopher Mansfield's deeply emotional and expressive songwriting. Writers such as Mansfield remind us that pop can still be spiritual, sublime, its expressive qualities capable of elevating the spirits and challenging our preconceptions about art of any kind."- PopMatters “We were friends before we made any music together,” we have a lot of things in common – our vices and our demons and our art, the things that we’re good at and our shortcomings.” - Macklemore Facebook Instagram Twitter
